Vladimir Nikolaevich Kosogov (lat. Vladimir Kosogov) is a Russian poet and journalist. Born in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region. Lives in Kursk.

Together with the Kursk poet Roma Rubanov, he leads the literary workshop “Yellow Notebook” at the Kursk Literary Museum. The main mission of the Yellow Notebook meetings is mentoring and professional criticism of young aspiring poets.
Kosogov’s poems were published in major printed and electronic literary magazines, such as “Moscow”, “Neva”, “Arion”, “Znamya”, “October”, “Siberian Lights” and many others.
The young poet’s debut collection of poems was published in 2004, and in 2017, the Moscow publishing house Voymega published Kosogov’s first authored book, “Shirpotreb”.
Kosogov’s poems are widely known outside the Russian Federation. Many works have been translated into Korean and published by local publishing houses.

Creation
As a child, Kosogov’s favorite poet was Alexander Pushkin, and his works were his famous fairy tales. The future poet’s first attempt at writing happened in early childhood – at the age of 9. However, Kosogov consciously began to write at the age of 16, at the same age when famous predecessors, such as Nikolai Nekrasov and Alexei Tolstoy, began to master the iambic, trochee and amphibrachs. According to Kosogov, at this age he had not yet delved deeply into poetry.
In 2004, the debut collection of poems by a very young future poet was published.
Vladimir Kosogov’s first publications in major Russian magazines began to appear after participating in one of the Forums of Young Writers in 2014, which was supported and organized by the SIEP S.A. Foundation. Filatova.
Among the authors, the forum organized by SEIP is called “Lipki” – after the location of the first such trips. The event was attended by many Russian contemporary writers over the years: Zakhar Prilepin, Mikhail Elizarov, Ildar Abuzyarov, Roman Senchin, Anastasia Orlova, Maria Markova, Leta Yugai and others.
Kosogov’s poems have been published in many poetry collections, as well as in literary magazines.
Over the years, Vladimir Kosogorov’s texts have appeared in well-known Russian printed and electronic magazines, such as “Moscow”, “Neva”, “Arion”, “Znamya”, “October”, “Siberian Lights” and others.
In 2017, thanks to the Moscow publishing house Voymega, which promotes exclusively Russian contemporary poetry, Kosogov’s first author’s book, “Shirpotreb”, was published.
As the author himself admits, it was a very long and extensive joint editorial work. The wonderful Russian poet Alexander Pereverzin acted as the editor and compiler of the book; he himself worked on the manuscript for about a year.
Also in 2017, the SEIP Foundation released the collection “New Writers. New names in literature: prose, poetry, literature for children, criticism, essays.” Among the authors published poems by Vladimir Kosogov. The collection includes works by the best authors – participants in the International Forum of Young Writers of Russia and Abroad in 2016, writing in Russian. The book presents a variety of literary genres: prose, poetry, children’s literature, literary criticism, essays.
2017 was a very fruitful year for publications for Vladimir Kosogov. In the same 2017, the AST publishing house, edited by Elena Shubina, released a collection of works by laureates of the Lyceum literary prize named after Alexander Pushkin – “Lyceum 2017. First issue.” Poems by Vladimir Kosogov, as the winner of the competition, were published in this publication.
In 2018, a significant event in Kosogov’s work was the publication in the poetry collection “Modern Russian Poem. 1992–2017 / Anthology.” The compiler of the publication is the famous Russian philologist and literary critic Artyom Skvortsov. The anthology includes 228 poems in a variety of individual author’s styles, selected from printed and electronic literary magazines in Moscow, St. Petersburg and abroad for the period from 1992 to 2017.
Kosogov’s work is included in the collection as one of the notable phenomena of modern Russian poetry, which has recently experienced a significant rise.
In 2019, poems by Vladimir Kosogov appeared in the collection “Present Time. Poetry”. It contains poems by 25 poets – participants in literary seminars of the Moscow Writers’ Union, of which Kosogov is a member. One of the compilers of the collection is Alexander Pereverzin, head of the poetry seminar of the Moscow Writers’ Union. The book was published by the Moscow publishing house Voymega thanks to the financial support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
In 2023, the book “Resurrected in the Third World War” was published – a collection of Russian military poetry dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict of 2014–2022. The anthology consists of works by the best poets of modern Russia; This also includes the work of Vladimir Kosogov, who reflects on this topic in his poems.
Another interesting fact from the biography of Vladimir Kosogov is that his work is of interest in South Korea. The poet’s works have been translated into Korean and published by a local publishing house.
Literary awards
Kosogov made his debut at literary competitions back in his student years, when in 2010 he became a finalist in the international literary competition “Manifestation”. The competition was organized by Kursk State University for its students. The jury included literature teachers from the poet’s alma mater and local literary scholars.

In 2016, Vladimir Kosogov became the winner of the international literary competition named after Maximilian Voloshin in the category “In life, to be not a book, but a notebook…”, held with the support of the Voymega publishing house from Moscow. The competition has been held annually for more than 20 years. Named in honor of the famous Soviet poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin and every year awards the best poets, prose writers, playwrights, critics, and journalists. The purpose of the competition is also to preserve the memory of the poets of the Silver Age, as well as the poets of the 20th century, in whose work the imprint of Crimea and Koktebel can be traced. These are the lands of famous poets and artists who sang the local beauties of nature in their work. The award is organized by the M. A. Voloshin House-Museum in Koktebel and a number of other major literary organizations.
Victory in this largest international competition with a good reputation in the literary circle and with an excellent jury was an important stage in his work. Upon its completion, the Voymega publishing house published one of the poet’s collections.
In 2017, Vladimir Kosogov became the laureate of the Lyceum Prize named after Alexander Pushkin, the most prestigious award in the field of literature.
The Lyceum Literary Prize named after Alexander Pushkin was created to support young prose writers and poets and is held in Russia annually. The Lyceum encourages young talented authors who write high-quality literary and artistic works in Russian. Each prize winner makes a huge contribution to the preservation and development of Russian and world fiction, continuing the traditions of the great Russian poet and prose writer Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. The award is also aimed at further supporting talented writers and poets, promoting its laureates and finalists. The founder of the award is the South Korean group LOTTE in Russia.
According to Vladimir Kosogov, this victory did not greatly influence his life, but it became a pleasant sign of distinction, since the jury included great professionals who highly appreciated his work.

In 2016, Kosogov won another major poetry competition, “The Lost Tram.”
Every year the competition is held online with the support of the international literary festival “Petersburg Bridges” and several major literary organizations. The mission of the event is to promote new names in modern Russian poetry. Thanks to the democratic format of the competition, both unknown beginning authors and those recognized by a wide audience can take part in it. During the gala evening, the winner receives a handmade medal by the artist Alexey Arkhipov with the image of N. S. Gumilyov as a souvenir.
For his triumph, Vladimir Kosogov received a cash prize, which he invested in the publication of his own book of poems for his 30th anniversary, and his works were published in the magazines “Northern Aurora” and “New Coast”.
